Welcome to the Kick-Off Meeting of the LAENOG project, organized by the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) and the Faculty of Human Kinetics (FMH) at the University of Lisbon, Portugal.

We are excited to have you join us for this important event as part of the “Latin American European Network in Social Support for Online Gaming” (LAENOG) project.

General Objective: To promote alignment among partners, structure the initial steps of the project, and strengthen commitment to achieving the project’s results.

Travel and accommodation costs will be covered under the Erasmus+ funding for the LAENOG project. Please contact the Local Project Coordinator at your university for further details.

Below, you will find essential information to help you prepare and guide you through the project’s kick-off days.

Project Overview

The LAENOG project is funded by the Erasmus+ programme under the Capacity Building in Higher Education component. The aim is to strengthen the capacities of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Brazil and Panama through the development of an eLearning-based platform that consolidates tools, resources, and training materials for Young Video Game Players (YVGP) (14-18 years old) and their parents/educators.

This platform will allow European partners (3 universities) to build the capacity of Latin American partners (4 universities), promoting knowledge sharing within the scope of online social competencies and reaching this target group to address online toxic behaviors (e.g., discrimination, racism, cyberbullying, intolerance, and isolation). The goal is to create a leading platform supporting young video game players (YVGP) and their parents/educators, spanning from Europe to Latin America.

The project has a duration of three years, from 2025 to 2027, involving partners from both Europe and Latin America, fostering international collaboration and knowledge exchange.
