The International Affairs Division (AAI) aims to promote its visibility abroad and attract an increasing number of foreign mobility and international students and researchers by establishing and strengthening existing partnerships and networks, such as (CESAER, CLUSTER, EIT Health, EIT InnoEnergy, Fullbright, HERITAGE, Magalhães, SEEEP, SiPN, T.I.M.E., Unite!). It is also important for Instituto Superior Técnico (Técnico Lisboa) to actively participate in international research, training and educational projects and mobility programs.

With its focus on internationalization and the motto ‘A School for the World,’ the International Affairs Division assumes its competencies through three offices:
