Athens: an immersive green week

Last month, Técnico Lisboa proudly hosted an engaging intensive course titled “Designing the Future of Educational Spaces” under the ATHENS Network. Spearheaded by CITUA’s Alexandra Alegre, Cássio de Lucena, and Patrícia Lourenço, framed within the ROLE research project, the course attracted 20 bright students from leading European universities.

Throughout the week, students delved into emergent educational environments, exploring the significance of both indoor and outdoor spaces and their profound connection to communities and urban landscapes. Participants brainstormed innovative ideas, particularly focusing on the pivotal role of outdoor spaces in education and climate resilience, aligning perfectly with OECD principles for enhancing educational experiences.

Participating institutions included Mines Paristech, Politecnico Di Milano, University Politechnica Of Bucharest, Czech Technical University in Prague, Budapest University Of Technology And Economics, and Universidad Politecnica De Madrid.

On behalf of the International Affairs Division, the head of the Mobility and International Cooperation Office, Valentina Oliveira was present.
