I-MAT – Innovative Mobility Attracting Tools for Latin America
Since January 2023, Técnico Lisboa’s Mobility and International Cooperation Office assumes the coordination of a project co-funded by the European Union through Key Action 2 of the Erasmus+ Programme within the scope of Capacity Building in Higher Education – I-MAT (Innovative Mobility Attracting Tools for Latin America).
This project focuses on sharing good internationalisation practices between European and Latin American higher education institutions through a digital and innovative approach. With a duration of three years, it will result in closer collaboration between the institutions of the consortium, which, at European level, are Técnico Lisboa (Portugal), Vilnius Tech (Lithuania) and AGH University of Science and Technology (Poland).
Regarding the Latin American institutions, I-MAT counts with the collaboration of institutions from Colombia, Peru and Brazil, such as Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (PUJ), Universidad de los Andes (UNIANDES), Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP), Universidad Catolica San Pablo (UCSP), Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), and, finally, Fundação Edson Queiroz – Universidade de Fortaleza (UNIFOR).
Since the Kick-Off Meeting of the project, which took place at Técnico Lisboa between March 1st and 3rd, the consortium has been meeting in working groups dedicated to the development of surveys, publications, workshops and international trainings that will capacitate the staff of the institutions involved regarding their internationalisation, in order to share and adopt good practices that allow the participation of a larger number of students, academics and administrative staff in international mobility programmes.
