ELA4ATTRACT Team Meets in Santiago to Drive STEM Collaboration Forward
Last October, the ELA4ATTRACT – Empower LA HE for Inclusion and STEM Attraction team met in Santiago, Chile for the fifth Project Committee Meeting, co-hosted by Universidad de Chile (UChile) and Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC Chile). Over three days of productive discussions, consortium members reviewed project achievements, assessed the current status, and established strategies for future progress.
The week included a visit to Expo Futuro Novato y Novata at UC Chile, a campus fair presenting the university’s academic programs and engaging visitors with activities such as talks, workshops, and interactive exhibits. At UChile, ELA4ATTRACT partners also had the opportunity to meet two inspiring female STEM students who entered the university through a special admission program. These interactions brought valuable external perspectives, further enriching the discussions.
Coordinated by Técnico Lisboa and co-funded by the European Union, ELA4ATTRACT is a Capacity Building in Higher Education Project with 12 partners from Europe and Latin America. The project seeks to share knowledge and best practices to attract more students into STEM fields, with an emphasis on addressing the gender imbalance typically observed in these areas.
