Welcome Ceremony

Today NMCI welcomes new students involved in different mobility programs from different countries around the world. Despite the difficulties imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Técnico is welcoming more than 270 students from different countries around the world, namely from countries as Germany, Brazil, Colombia, Slovenia, India, Mexico, Norway, France, Sweden and other countries.

Application for the Mobility Programs

Monday, February 15th, 2021

The Mobility and International Cooperation Office (NMCI) informs that it will open at FÉNIX, PORTAL DO ESTUDANTE | PARTICIPATE | MOBILITY an application period for the several mobility programs, between February 15-26, 2021.

The application is made entirely online and  students must place the universities to which they want to apply in order of priority (up to a maximum of 10 universities).

Who can apply: Master students already enrolled and attending their 1st year | Students from the 3rd year of the integrated master that will be transferred to the same master degree

Important notes:

– For Master Thesis students are only allowed to do the experimental part/internship in mobility. The programme that you should apply to is Erasmus Placements (Internships). Applications will be in April 2021. More information

– Applications after the deadline are not accepted.

Applications for the MITH and HMDA Programme

Monday, February 1st, 2021

The Mobility and International Cooperation Office (NMCI) informs that it will open at FÉNIX, STUDENT  | PARTICIPATE | MOBILITY a period of applications, between 01.02.2021 and 05.02.2021, exclusively for these  programs:

 EIT Health – MSc Technological Innovation in Health (MTIH), only for Biomedical Engineering students (MEBiom)

 EIT Health – MSc Health and Medical Data Analytics (HMDA), only for students of Computer Science and Engineering (MEIC)

 Students must place the universities to which they apply in order of priority.

 These programs are semesterly and have a mobility semester grant of 5000 euros.

 Students applying for these programs and being selected cannot apply for ERASMUS, if they do so, their applications will be canceled.

 MTIH is a partnership between IST and the schools: Sorbonne Université, University of Barcelona, ​​Universidad Politecnica de Madrid, Université Grenoble Alpes, and it’s aimed at training health technology specialists within the EIT Health Technology (EIT) network.

 HMDA is a partnership between IST and the schools :Friedrich Alexander Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), Universidad Politecnica de Madrid, Université Grenoble Alpes designed to train specialists in health technologies within the EIT network Health.

 Candidates must also send the documents listed below (in PDF format) by email, to patricia.carneiro@tecnico.ulisboa.pt;

  • Letter of motivation, indicating which of the partner universities to which they intend to apply by order of priority;
  • Curriculum vitae;
  • Degree certificate for students who have not completed the first cycle at IST.

Applications for the Vulcanus Programme

The Mobility and International Cooperation Office informs that the Applications for the Vulcanus Programme – Training Programme in Japan, are open until 10th February, 2021. Are you a 2nd cycle student or are you in the penultimate year of PhD? Are you looking for an international internship? Apply for Vulcanus Programme! The whole programme takes place in Japan and lasts one year, offering students the opportunity to do an internship in a Japanese company.
