International Affairs Division (AAI)

On the 27^th and 28^th of November 2023, Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) participated in the ‘Estudar em Portugal – Brazil High School Counsellors Workshop 2023‘. This event brought together 28 High School Counsellors from various states in Brazil, facilitating private meetings between representatives from Técnico’s Admissions Office and each Counsellor. The Brazilian delegation also visited the University of Lisbon’s Rectorate and subsequently moved to Técnico for a tour of our laboratories.

The visit to Instituto Superior Técnico comprised an institutional presentation conducted by the International Affairs Area and visits to several laboratories, including the LARSyS: Laboratory for Robotics and Engineering Systems at the Institute of Systems and Robotics and the Department of Mechanical Engineering Laboratories. At the Department of Mechanical Engineering, students from the Mechanics Forum accompanied the visitors through the Control, Automation, and Robotics Laboratory, the Mechanical and Materials Testing Laboratory, and the Formula Student Técnico Lisboa.

This event offered an excellent opportunity to showcase some of Técnico’s renowned areas and the campus atmosphere. Furthermore, it allowed us to reinforce our brand and present our educational offerings, with a focus on expanding our network with some of the most influential Counsellors in Brazil who actively guide students in pursuing studies abroad.
