International Affairs Division (AAI)

Técnico Lisboa welcomed a delegation from Shanghai University (SHU) on April 19th. The delegation, comprised of representatives from SHU, including Professor Yu Xuemei, Vice-President of SHU, visited Técnico Lisboa. This moment reinforced the commitment of both institutions to promote international collaboration and knowledge development in areas of mutual interest.

The visit started with a meeting at the Alameda Campus of Técnico Lisboa, where the delegation was received by Professor Zita Martins, Vice-President for International Affairs, and the coordinator of the International Affairs Division, Luis Almeida Moreira. Collaboration areas with SHU were discussed, with a focus on engineering, where the two institutions already have consolidated partnerships, and new synergies were explored.

The delegation visited the Civil Engineering, Architecture and Environment Department (DECivil), where they had the opportunity to tour the department’s laboratory and research center. The visit was guided by Professor Miguel Duarte Pinheiro, Department Director, and Professors Dídia Covas and Evelina Rodrigues.

Visits from delegations of partner universities are a crucial moment for strengthening ties between faculty and staff with the Técnico Lisboa’s community, potentially paving the way for new cooperation initiatives that will benefit students and researchers from both institutions.
